I had a heated debate with a friend today, regarding the definition of cake. Apparently, polenta cake doesn’t count as cake because it’s not light and spongey. I told him that terminology means very little to me in this context. If the thing is sweet and baked, I’ll call it a cake. However, I’d happily call it any other name if it meant I could have a slice.
