When I last visited my parents, I looked through old boxes of drawings and books from mine and my brother’s primary school days. In these boxes, I discovered something about my brother John: He was a one trick pony when it came to illustrations. Rockets, rockets, rockets, rockets, rockets (and, ok, the odd sketch of an aeroplane). It really made me laugh. I’ve selected a few for your enjoyment:
2. This one is dated from 1987. The obsession started early.
3. One of John’s handmade books. Note shoelace binding and ‘© 1990′.
4. I think this is my favourite one. That title (and that speech bubble) is gold.
5. ‘the fule tank holds hundreds of galons of fuel.’
What did you used to draw when you were a kid?
