‘CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black).’
These colours can be printed as pure solid blocks, or spread more thinly to make a whole rainbow of colours. However, the four colours have developed a sort of cult image in the design world. Have a look:
1. A CMYK colour wheel made of records. By Jan T. Sott
2. CMYK typesetting in this poster by ohdearmolly (you can buy it here)
3. Halloween costume of dreams (for design nerds). Photo by AJ Candy, who clearly gets invited to all the best parties.
4. CMYK crochet doilies? Why the hell not? Buy them here.
5. I took this photo in East London, and it inspired this post.
