TOP 5: London Fashion Week legs.

I spent Saturday afternoon at Somerset House, engaging in high-quality people watching.  Turns out that I was mainly watching their legs.

1. Badass leggings and sexy booties.

2. Capes, pantaloons, flares, feathers, snakey legs and leopard print. Woah.

3. Leather, fur, Chanel and Louboutins.

4. A black-clad photographer and her technicolour subject.

5. A shining example of laid back cool.

TOP 5: Girly girl.

The stereotypical Girly Girl is an elusive being: Most ladies don’t spend all their time gushing about mascara while shopping for adorable peep-toes. No. The Girly Girl generally lies dormant and emerges periodically, not unlike werewolves at full moon.

1. Big, flirty eyelashes. (Glitter optional.)

2. Candy-hued, heart-embellished footwear.

3. Cupcakes. Of course!

4. Pearls, bows, sequins and flowers.

5. Manicures and cocktails.

TOP 5: Big black boots.

This post title comes from this song. It was played in clubs when I was 19, and it described me pretty well, I thought. (I’ve cut off my hair since then. Oh well.)

1. Classy black suede zip-ups (with nails to match).

2. My trusty Zara knee highs (and my favourite colour combo).

3. Crazy-ass patent mock-croc stiletto boots. With 16cm heels. Yes.

4. Flat vintage boots with proper laces (no zips!).

5. Slouchy, soft and worn to the bone.

TOP 5: Lady legs.

They say you can tell a person from their shoes. Well, it’s true. If it’s all black and gold and immaculate, then you’re probably onto a winner.

1. These shoes are blindingly hot – hence the overexposure.

2. Blurring the lines between footwear and self-defence.

3. Kurt Geiger is your friend, ladies.

4. On-stage shoe worship at the vintage pageant ball.

5. Great legs think alike.
