I like taking photos on escalators. I seem to be drawn to the bold lines and colours, as well as the shiny surfaces and glowing neon lights. Here are five of my favourites, presented without comment.
I took these pictures in various locations, in London and Athens. Photographs of urban spaces always strike me as eerie, but it’s an eeriness I adore.

1. The inner city palette.
2. Inner city camouflage.
3. Camouflage fail.
4. Grey: Not just for the city.
5. Grey: I love it.
1. Riverside, Reading.
2. On the ground, Brick lane.
3. This alley really smelt of pee.
4. This alley did not smell of pee, thankfully.
5. These scrawlings were so fresh that I nearly stained my dress with them.
1. A letterbox.
2. Chopped-up tiles.
3. I have no idea what this is.
4. Window shadows.
5. Security grill.
